Having problems with +Extract? Ask in here

everything padlocked even ftv

Postby geoffrey_packer » Tue Oct 13, 2009 9:08 am

Hello,

I am trying to burn a load of stuff recorded of ITV for a mates girlfriend!
Its 3 weeks worth of X-factor, 6 hours in all, so I am desperate not to watch it to record onto DVD!!!!
Why are they all locked? looking on the forum free to view channels are not encrypted, so why is this.
Any suggestions?
Does the 'keep' button on the sky+ planner have any effect?

What version of +Extract are you using?

The fact that it says that all recordings are encrypted is merely an indicator - you will still be able to extract them. Of course if they are really encrypted you won't be able to use them in your DVD authoring application anyway.

Thanks for the quick reply

Extract+ 0.3.0.7 from here http://www.skycopyplus.co.uk/extract.php
I have just noticed 04.01 on the forum though.
When I said everything 95% was padlocked. I didn't really pay attention to what was padlocked
films, sky one etc. I get, they're encrypted because I've paid for them.

I have tried project X on one of the files and got a second of a talk talk sponsors x factor
Please don't make me watch 6 hours of X factor....:)

During my investigation into writing my own converter (far from complete) I came across another free tool, namely MPEG Streamclip. Its really fast but requires Quicktime installed (unnessessarily IMHO).

Again thanks for the info.
That programme didn't help much.
I'll try the 'turn off keep' on the sky box planner and see if that helps.

The "keep" setting will have absolutely zero effect on a recordings decodability or otherwise.
